Well I must start of this review by saying this is one of the most interesting reviews I've ever had to write because it is of a Korean artist.

In addition I know very little, if anything, regarding the Korean music industry but despite this lack of insight into the work a diehard fan of Seo Tai Ji's convinced me to write this review.

And I must say I'm happy I finally gave this CD a listen.

우선 나는 이 리뷰가 한국아티스트의 것이기때문에 내가 지금껏 해왔던 어떤것보다 흥미로운 일이었음을 말하면서 리뷰를 시작하려한다.

덧붙여서.. 나는 한국음악산업에 대해서는거의 아는 것이 없는 편이나 그러한 통찰력의 부족에도 불구하고 바로 '서태지의 열정적인 팬(!)'이 나로 하여금 이 리뷰를 해야겠다는 생각을 가지게 하였다. 그리고 마침내 나는 이 시디를 듣게 된것에 대해 무척 기쁘게 생각한다.

So to first discuss purely the music of the CD. His sound is based in hard rock but mixes in pop, and electronic sounds to create a very full and polished sound.

In general the sound of this album is closer to heavy metal,  or hardcorethento rock or pop. I'd say his sound on this album creates a very energetic and powerful feeling.

우선 이 음반의 음악에 대해 순수히 논해보자. 그의 사운드는 하드록에 기반을 두고 있지만 팝과 전자음향이 섞여 꽉 차면서도 세련된 사운드를 창조해내고 있다.

일반적으로 이 앨범의 사운드는 락이나 팝보다는 해비메탈이나 하드코아에 더 가깝다. 이 앨범에서의 그의 사운드는 매우 강력하고도 파워풀한 느낌을 창조해내고 있다고 말하고 싶다.

An interesting feature of this album is that most of thetracks are simply titled "Track" insert track number here,  essentially placing all the tracks on equal footing.

I found that logical as to me as all the tracks seemed to flow together to create a work rather than a series of tracks.

Unfortunately as all of the tracks are in Korean and I don't speak Korean I had little understanding of the lyrics and especially of the context of the lyrics within the songs.

But to help me understand the musical contentI was providedwith lyric sheets, which gave me a feel for Seo Taiji's ideas and beliefs.

It appears that he hits on many of society's most controversial topics such as, abortion and suicide. And that he doesn't steer away from any topics.

이 앨범의 흥미로운 점은 특히 모든 곡에 동등한 자격을 부여하며 곡넘버만 넣은 " take'로 단순히 이름붙여 졌다는 것이다.

적어도 내가 생각하기에는 모든 트랙들이 연속적으로 나열되었다기 보다는 함께 흘러서 하나의 작품을 만들고 있다고 보여진다.

불행하게도 모든 곡이 한국어로 되어있고 내가 한국어를 모르기 때문에  가사를 알수가 없고 특히 노랫말의 주제를 이해할 수가 없다.

그러나, 내가 음악적인 진의를 이해할 수 있도록 가사집을 제공받았다. 그 가사집은 내게 서태지의 생각과 신념을 느낄수 있게 해주었다. 그는 낙태나 자살과 같은 가장 논쟁적인 사회적 문제에 대해 지적하고 있는것으로 보인다. 그리고 어떤 주제로부터도 그는 피해가지 않았다.

But what really hits me is his sound. And to me it is this sound that is so strong that it explains to me why a fan was so excited about his work to send me a copy to review!

그러나 무엇보다 내게 강한 인상을 준것은 그의 사운드이다. 그리고 이 사운드는 아주 강렬해서 왜 그의 팬이 그토록 그의 음악에 대해 흥분하고 내게 리뷰복사본을 보냈는지를 이해하도록 하는 것이었다.
